HAPPENINGS

Well as my lovely brother Lance pointed out to me last night we/I have not updated our blog in a couple of weeks. Not that I have had anything else to due with the baby and everything else. So here we go, over the past couple of weeks we have been up to a few things. First Jessi has had two of her three showers she is going to have for the baby. We are very greatful to all of the people who came out and supported us in the first two. When you step back and really look at it we have some very great people as our friends. We would like to thank Jessi's mom Judy for throwing the first shower, it was a big success. We spent the next several days washing the babies clothes, blankets and other things we received from the shower. Yesterday Kathy and Sharla put on another shower for Jessi. We want to thank them for all there time and effort that they put into the shower. It again was a big success and we are now washing and putting away all the stuff. At this party the baby received alot of books and DVD's after all most of them were teachers. We are very thankful for everything everyone did for us. We are also very blessed to have such great friends as Kathy and Sharla who would take there time and effort to organize and put on an event for us and our baby. Don't forget Morgan and Sydney who also helped put it on, thank you guys as well. We went to the doctor this past tuesday she said everything looked really good and Jessi was doing well. We had to go to a different doctor this appointment since our doctor just had a baby the week before our appointment. Anyway everything looked great the baby is measuring a little big, but that is not a bad thing. We will go on October 16th at this time we will have the 3d ultrasound which will show us his facial features and things of that nature. We are both very excited, my family from Florida will also be up at this time so they can see the ultrasound pictures. The Last we have let a few people know the name in a card we sent to them. We have decided to let just a few that we really want to know, and can keep it a secret, know the name. I want to say congratulations to Travis and Erin who had there son Nolan on Friday at 7:10 everyone is doing great. Lastly I will try to update this more often, and again thank you to everyone who has been so gracious to my family over the past few months.

P.S. Jessi is at a shower and usually she proof reads these so if there are a bunch of errors it is my fault she is not going to get to read it before I post it.

Our first post

As most of you already know Jessi and I are expecting our first baby on November 29, 2009, we are having a baby boy. Getting to this point of being pregnant has been a little bit of a struggle for us. We spent about a year and a half trying to have a baby with no results. Jessi then had a ovarian cyst, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise because the doctor could do a little probing while in surgery to see if there where any other problems. We found out that Jessi had a ruptured tube on one side which the doctor believes happened when she was in her mother's womb. After finding this out we went to Advanced Fertility, met Dr. Gentry and with his advice and following his plan we were pregnant the second month. I still remember this day like it was yesterday. I knew going in the night before that she would be taking a pregnancy test the next morning and with all the negative results the past tests had brought us I was very nervous. I remember before I went to bed I prepared myself for what I was going to say in the event the test was negative. Right before we went to bed I prayed and said "If this is what you want for us God then please let it be but if not I understand just help Jessi understand as well, just so you know we will not give up." The next morning I got up, the first thing I saw was Jessi who looked like she was in shock which I had seen so many previous months. I felt my heart drop in the pit of my stomach and then she said come look for yourself. The test was positive all I could say was there is a plus sign! Then I realized the shock on Jessi's face was that she didn't know how to react either. One of the best days of our lives. We were going to try to keep it from our parents for a few days but I could just not take it. I wrote a letter from our child to our parents. We went to Jessi's parents first and told them we would like them to read a letter that one of Jessi's students wrote in class that day. Her mom read it first and had to read it a second time to get it. Then we went to my parents, we were going to go out with my parents for dinner anyway, so I gave the letter to my mom who caught on and said nothing and gave it to my dad. So far the pregnancy has been a very unique learning experience for Jessi and I. We are both very excited for November 29th to come. For all of you who read this I am going to try to keep up with this!
