Our first post

As most of you already know Jessi and I are expecting our first baby on November 29, 2009, we are having a baby boy. Getting to this point of being pregnant has been a little bit of a struggle for us. We spent about a year and a half trying to have a baby with no results. Jessi then had a ovarian cyst, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise because the doctor could do a little probing while in surgery to see if there where any other problems. We found out that Jessi had a ruptured tube on one side which the doctor believes happened when she was in her mother's womb. After finding this out we went to Advanced Fertility, met Dr. Gentry and with his advice and following his plan we were pregnant the second month. I still remember this day like it was yesterday. I knew going in the night before that she would be taking a pregnancy test the next morning and with all the negative results the past tests had brought us I was very nervous. I remember before I went to bed I prepared myself for what I was going to say in the event the test was negative. Right before we went to bed I prayed and said "If this is what you want for us God then please let it be but if not I understand just help Jessi understand as well, just so you know we will not give up." The next morning I got up, the first thing I saw was Jessi who looked like she was in shock which I had seen so many previous months. I felt my heart drop in the pit of my stomach and then she said come look for yourself. The test was positive all I could say was there is a plus sign! Then I realized the shock on Jessi's face was that she didn't know how to react either. One of the best days of our lives. We were going to try to keep it from our parents for a few days but I could just not take it. I wrote a letter from our child to our parents. We went to Jessi's parents first and told them we would like them to read a letter that one of Jessi's students wrote in class that day. Her mom read it first and had to read it a second time to get it. Then we went to my parents, we were going to go out with my parents for dinner anyway, so I gave the letter to my mom who caught on and said nothing and gave it to my dad. So far the pregnancy has been a very unique learning experience for Jessi and I. We are both very excited for November 29th to come. For all of you who read this I am going to try to keep up with this!
